A two-day Certification Programme for educators exploring style differences in the classroom and giving practical advice in matching teaching styles to students' true learning needs. Knowledge of Learning Styles and the Diversity Concept enables teachers to make their daily classroom work more comfortable, more satisfying and more successful for themselves and their students.
- Day 1: 'Diversity in the Classroom based on Learning Styles'
- Day 2: 'Teaching Styles - Learning Tools - Classroom Management'
(equivalent of Day 1 & 2 of our DIPLOMA IN HOLISTIC EDUCATION)
DAY 1:
Diversity in the Classroom based on Learning Styles enables participants to:
- understand learning and teaching style models
- get to know the research basis for learning styles
- distinguish between biological/cognitive/attitudinal/social aspects of a student's learning style
- interpret computerised, personalised LSA-Adult profiles and reports
- experience how learning styles affect not only the way human beings learn, and take in new information but also store it long-term
- expand their understanding about successful learning processes
- know the importance of left/right brain dominance and sensory modalities (V-A-T-K)
- realise the style differences of analytic/holistic learners and of males and females
- understand the learning style needs of underachievers
- recognise the style differences of reluctant/slow/poor learners and 'gifted' students learn how to set up a learning style classroom
DAY 2:
Teaching Styles - Learning Tools - Classroom Management enables participants to:
- interpret personal, computerised TSA-Ed profiles
- interpret individual student's Learning Style (LSA) profiles
- compare their own TSA profile with their students' individual learning needs
- understand and utilise LSA group profiles
- incorporate analytic/holistic & 'double-tracking' methods in their teaching
- produce tactile/kinesthetic (T/K) learning tools
- learn which students need T/K learning tools in class and at home
- understand the importance of a MIP (Multisensory Instructional Package)
to enhance student learning
- discover matches and mismatches between personal TSA and LSA with the help of group/class profiles
- use the LSA & TSA software
- plan a learning styles programme for their own school and/or classroom
