E-Course: Introduction to Learning Styles

Notes: We don’t have set times when you have to be in front of the computer - do it at your own leisure. Nor do we have Real Time participation, though email participation is encouraged.

Recommended for teaching principals, tutors, active classroom teachers and educators who already have some experience with Learning Styles and want to gain better understanding of practical applications of style diversity in the classroom. 

 

Part ONE: “Everyone can learn:  the Secret of Personal Learning Style (LS) Differences”

 

UNIT 1: 

  • Know yourself and others - Learning Style Models, research basis   
  • Learning Styles (LS) and exams; LS & Multiple Intelligences
  • Bological/natural and conditioned/learned style features
  • Profile Interpretations (LSA-Adult)
  • Multi-sensory teaching and learning – going beyond V-A-K
  • Group Profiles – revealing the unseen in every class
  • International case studies – LS in different educational settings

 

UNIT 2:               

  • Left/Right Brain Dominance and its importance for school success
  • Style differences of analytic/holistic learners, male/female students
  • Natural learning needs of underachieving, holistic and tactile/kinesthetic students
  • International case studies – success with ‘problem’ students
  • Introducing Teaching Style Analysis for educators (TSA-Ed)
  • How to start and sustain LS programmes in schools

 

UNIT 3:   

              

  • ‘Own work’ instead of home work
  • Questions and answers
  • Observation period

 

UNIT 4:   

  • Reporting back own experiences
  • Final questions 
  • Wrap-up and preview of continuation of LS Certification

 

Every participant will receive: 1 LSA-Adult profile prior to the course plus handouts.
